Drainage of Astral Pipes production facility

Astral Pipes was established in 1996 with the aim to manufacture best-in-globe plastic piping systems. The company is equipped with state-of-the-art production facilities at 13 locations across 4 countries. HAURATON surface drainage systems are installed in many Astral Pipes production facilities. The production facility in Ghiloth, India, covers an area of 52,500 square metres. There, 1,160 metres of HAURATON channels are installed.

Drainage under heavy load conditions

The Astral Pipes manufacturing facility in Ghiloth is one of the largest producers of CPVC piping products. Hundreds of trucks are loaded and shipped here every day. The installed drainage systems therefore not only had to withstand the heavy loads and frequencies of the vehicles, but also drain large industrial areas quickly to avoid disruptions to logistics operations due to waterlogging. In addition, all problems observed with cast-in-situ channels should be avoided. For example, the trenches leaking into adjacent areas and uneven quality due to improper workmanship.

Solid channel system for highest industrial demands

The choice fell on the prefabricated RECYFIX channels from HAURATON, which convinced with their durability and longevity. The smooth inner surface of the channel creates excellent hydraulic performance without the need for a slope towards the outlet. This eliminated all previous problems associated with the slope. The channels should not only safely drain the surface water of the industrial area, but also the water from the roof. This was taken into account hydraulically when selecting and installing the drainage systems. The light weight of the channels and their quick and easy installation allowed the tight schedule to be met.

RECYFIX trenches

The shatterproof RECYFIX products are made of 100% recycled composite and have a very high stability despite their low weight. RECYFIX channels have a u-shaped profile, which results in greater hydraulic performance, less dirt accumulation and easier maintenance. RECYFIX channels can be used in various areas in industrial facilities: From pedestrian walkways to heavy traffic areas.

  • Depending on the channel, loadable up to 60 tons wheel load and approx. 180 tons total weight (load class F 900)

  • Corrosion-free: UV stable with high resistance to chemicals, fuel, oils and surface contaminants

  • Design flexibility: a variety of sizes, widths (including monolithic units) and grating options
